What is CYSPG?

Welcome to CYSPG, in essence we are a group of young, like-minded professionals who aim to create an environment where people in Cambridge have a platform to meet new friends and informally network. New to town or not, the committee will provide you with an opportunity to have some fun in the form of football tournaments, punting, BBQ's, cocktail evenings and quiz nights, and for those who have paid their annual membership of just £45 these nights on the town are free of charge. At the same time, we aim to provide other practical evenings such as a careers evening and an opportunity to demystify the property market and mortgages. However before you start yawning you can wash down the serious bits with a glass or two of wine!

In addition to social activities and practical advice, you will receive membership to Local Secrets which provides discounts on local restaurants and bars, as well as corporate membership to Next Generation.

Founded two years ago, the club now has over 300 active members made up of a large variety of professions. It has the backing of major local and national businesses who deem it a necessary addition to Cambridge life for those hard working among us who still want to make the time to enjoy all that the city has to offer. Some firms have gone as far as paying for their employees' memberships - so it's always worth asking!

Run by a small committee in our spare time, we are keen to ensure that we deliver exactly what you want, so should you have specific interests that don't already feature on the calendar then simply let us know. Don't be shy, for just ten pounds you can come along to one of the events on our calendar and see if it's for you.

Picture a night out in town with a free bar, a room full of like-minded, young at heart professionals from every walk of life, just having a laugh. Imagine you are there in the thick of it, relieved not to be surrounded by just your colleagues on a night out once again. You meet a lawyer, a surveyor, a journalist and a musician and, next month, you all meet up on Jesus Green to play a game of rounders followed by a boozy BBQ. Welcome to CYSPG, a group of people determined to make the most out of what Cambridge has to offer, to get together at loosely organised events where someone else has taken the time to ensure the venue is right, the sun is out and the fun is flowing. Founded two years ago, major companies both in Cambridge and nationally have backed the group deeming it a perfect way to network informally. If you are clever about it, you can even get your firm to pay for your membership!

For only £45 pa you can come and go as you please taking advantage of the heavily subsidised events - including a Summer Ball in the privileged setting of Cambridge college grounds. Included in this nominal fee you will receive discounts through Local Secrets on Cambridge restaurants, and corporate membership of Next Generation to name just two. Run by a small committee of young professionals, they cater to every persons social whim. It's perfect for those of you who are new to town, left all your friends behind in London , or even if you've lived here for 5 years and fancy meeting some new faces.

As with most things, you will only get out of it what you put in, so if you'd like to see a particular event on our calendar - just email us. If you have a social bone in your body why not pay £10 (as a non-member) and come along to the next event - you can always bring a friend or two. Either way, one thing is for sure - you'll have fun; we have over 300 names on our database to prove it.
